CLASSIQUE LIMOUSINES ANNOUNCES TRIAL OF MERCEDES-BENZ R350

Classique Limousines, a leader in ground transportation in Southern California announces participation in testing the Mercedes-Benz R350 BlueTEC vehicle to replace the traditional Lincoln Town Car as the vehicle of choice for the livery industry.

Kevin Illingworth, owner of Classique Limousines recently met Mick Morris, Manager Fleet Operations Mercedes-Benz at the Atlantic City Limousine Digest Show.   Classique Limousines is a of environmental sustainability and Mr. Illingworth has discussed what can be done with our affiliate companies throughout the United States. Mr. Frank Gomez, National Account Manager Mercedes-Benz approached Mr. Illingworth and asked him to participate in the trial study of the vehicle. The goal of Mercedes-Benz is that the R350 BlueTEC will become the vehicle of choice in the livery industry to replace the traditional Lincoln Town Car that Ford is suspending production on as of 2011.

On November 17, 2010 Classique Limousines received delivery of the R350 which Mr. Illingworth is driving and testing for its viability as a livery vehicle. He was immediately impressed with the handling, roominess and luggage capacity. Another key point about the R350 is the size of the front windshield and minimal blind spots that has become an issue on newer model vehicles from other companies. Other impressive features are the ease of syncing cell phones to the vehicles Bluetooth system, allowing drivers to be more focused and not fumbling with headsets; additional “jump” seats making third row of seating available for as directed runs; GPS system that is easy to use with clear graphics; reverse camera when backing up, giving the driver needed visibility.

Mr. Illingworth is considering this vehicle when adding to his fleet. With the BlueTEC technology that converts polluting nitrogen oxide into harmless nitrogen and water is impressive; and the result is a significant reduction in pollutants, making the BlueTEC diesel engine smoother, more efficient and quieter yet also more robust. Mr. Illingworth believes the R350’s fuel efficiency is needed in our industry and will bring Classique Limousines one step closer to its goals of environmental sustainability and zero carbon emissions.

For more information on the services we provide and our efforts to reduce carbon emissions, please contact Carolyn Kent, General Manager at 714.288.8853.

HAPPY VETERANS DAY TO THE SOLDIERS, SAILORS, AIRMEN AND MARINES!

CLASSIQUE LIMOUSINES wishes to extend a sincere thank you to those who have served and are serving in the United States Armed Forces. The sacrifices are great – months away from family, from friends, from home; life in a hostile environment where even the smallest decision can mean the difference between life and death. Today, on VETERAN’S DAY, we honor those brave individuals who have assured our freedom through their unselfish service to our country.

As a small gesture, CLASSIQUE LIMOUSINES is offering a 10%  discount to veterans on all services booked Sunday through Thursday in the month of November.  For more information please give us a call at 714.288.8853.

CLASSIQUE LIMOUSINES: TRANSPORTATION TO TEMECULA FOR WINE TASTING TOURS

Blessed with gorgeous weather year-round, Temecula is home to nearly 40 wineries and a charming Old Town with unique dining and shopping experiences. Often overshadowed by the wonderful wineries, Temecula also offers artisan foods such as olive oil and cheeses.

Temecula produces some excellent wines. The region’s hot weather results in intense wines – dry whites, sweet dessert wines, fruity Sangiovese and jammy Zinfandels. Sauvignon Blanc is one of the stars among the whites as are Rhone varietals such as Roussanne and Viognier. The Cabernets and Merlots are wonderful however some of the most interesting reds come from the Rhone and Italian varietals such as Syrah, Grenache and Sangiovese. To sample all the region offers, here are a few suggested wineries to visit:

HART FAMILY WINERY
Sample their mouth-watering Sauvignon Blancs, fruity, balanced Sangiovese and the Cabernet Franc with its mild herbal notes. Also try “Three” which blends Grenache, Tempranillo and Syrah in a bright, drinkable wine

BAILY VINEYARD AND WINERY
Their reds are smooth, supple and balanced. Highlights include their Cabernet Franc (packed with silky fruit with a touch of herbs), a full-bodied Merlot and a lovely Meritage.

MOUNT PALOMAR WINERY
Known for producing a varietal Cortese – a white wine grape from the Piedmont region of Italy – this wine is gorgeous, infused with the aromas of flowers and apples with a hint of nutty bitterness in the finish. They offer two stunning dessert wines: the Reserve Port and the Solera Cream Sherry.

WILSON CREEK WINERY & VINEYARDS
Certainly one of the “favorites” for most wine tours of the area, their signature wine is an Almond Champagne, fermented in almond oil. Other offerings to try are their dry Grenache Rose and a peppery, French-style Syrah.

FALKNER WINERY
The Pinnacle Restaurant at the winery offers sweeping views of the valley and great menu. Known for producing semi-sweet red wines, among the favorites is “Luscious Lips” (blend of Syrah and Sangiovese) and an exotic, honeysuckle scented Viognier.

Plan a day with friends exploring all that Temecula offers. CLASSIQUE LIMOUSINES offers wine tasting packages for groups of two to 30 people. With our fleet of executive town cars, luxury limousines and limousine buses we can accommodate any size group. Enjoy a relaxing day without worrying about how many glasses of wine you have had. We are an approved transportation provider for the TEMECULA VALLEY WINEGROWERS ASSOCIATION. Our knowledgeable chauffeurs and reservationist can help you plan the perfect day. CLASSIQUE LIMOUSINES: TRANSPORTATION TO PETER PAN AT ORANGE COUNTY PERFORMING ARTS

SEPTEMBER 28 – NOVEMBER 21, 2010

PETER PAN - J.M Barrie’s classic tale of a mischievous boy who can fly and magically refuses to grow up is currently being staged at the ORANGE COUNTY PERFORMING ARTS CENTER. The venue is an elaborate tent erected next to the CENTER which is suspended from a white metal exoskeleton that rises more than 100 feet, leaving the interior virtually pillar free. It provides a remarkable 360 degree experience that will delight children of all ages.

Veteran theater designer Bill Dudley, part of the THREE SIXTY ENTERTAINMENT LTD. team that created this production, describes it as follows: “What we have aimed for is a fusing of some very different theatre styles. This is still a theater production. We have live actors to tell the story and we also have puppetry of a charming and surreal style, aerobatics, singing and sword fighting. What we also have is this other very special element. We take the audience up in the air and give them the felling that they’re soaring through the sky with these very familiar characters. It’s a lovely feeling.”

Personally, I am excited to see this production. I have seen PETER PAN several times before in a traditional theater environment and it is always magic. However, this special staging will bring Barrie’s story alive, allowing each of us to “fly” with Peter. I definitely recommend attending. Plan a special outing for family and friends, with this delightful production the centerpiece of your day (or evening).  And  make it even more special by arranging limousine transportation for your group. Please mention my blog when booking to enjoy discounted pricing. For more information please give us a call at 714.288.8853.

TRANSPORTATION TO JIMMY BUFFETT AT VERIZON AMPHITHEATER

JIMMY BUFFETT AND THE CORAL REEFER BAND "LAST MAN STANDING 2010"

VERIZON AMPHITHEATER - IRVINE, CA
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2010 AT 8:00PM

“What I'm best at is two hours of escapism for people that have to go back and either live jobs that they don't like or whatever...it's that Mardi Gras mentality." ~Jimmy Buffett

That “Mardi Gras” mentality returns to Verizon Amphitheater this Thursday as Buffett and his band again provide an evening of music and merriment. Buffett’s songbook is extensive and he always performs all the fan favorites from “Come Sunday” to “It’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere” to (my favorite) “A Pirate Turns Forty.” As his legion of fans (affectionately known as Parrot Heads) will tell you, his concerts are great fun. No gimmicks – instead an evening of music and camaraderie. And of course, it is an evening to party . . . for who cannot join in the fun when margaritas and beers are the beverages of choice!

It’s also an evening when local law enforcement traditionally sets up sobriety checkpoints. And for good reason for too many drinks do not mix with driving a vehicle. But this should not stop anyone from escaping from their everyday challenges and spending a few hours having fun. Classique Limousines is offering special transportation packages that evening. If you have a group of six or less we can offer transfer services to and from Verizon Amphitheater. For larger groups we have limousines and SUV limousines available at discounted prices.

The limousines are a great idea for Verizon is one of the few venues that allow tailgating in the parking lot. We provide complimentary bars with lots of ice and glasses and if there is something special you want just let us know. The driver will have it ready for you when he picks you up. Also, don’t forget your IPod. All the vehicles have IPod connectivity so you can listen to your special mix of Buffett favorites.

For more information on rates and availability please give us a call at 714.288.8853.

TRANSPORTATION FOR OKTOBERFEST IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

The year was 1810, the place was Bavaria, and life was hard.  It was the month of October and everyone worked long hours to complete the fall harvest and prepare for the onset of winter.  To reward his subjects, Prince Ludwig I invited them all to participate in the celebration of his wedding to Princess Theresa von Sachsen-Hilburghausen.  The wedding was a success and to honor the couple the anniversary became a yearly festival which we now know as Oktoberfest.  The festival is held from late September through early October in Munich with attendance over six million people.  German immigrants have spread this yearly festival to other cities across the world.
In Southern California there is a long tradition of celebrating Oktoberfest.  So grab some friends and enjoy a great evening of Bavarian brews, lively polka bands and the best German food.  Here are a few suggestions:

Alpine Village, Torrance California
September 10 - October 23, 2010
Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays
~Celebrating Oktoberfest for 43 Years~

Old World Village, Huntington Beach, California
September 5 - October 31, 2010

~Celebrating Oktoberfest for 50 Years~

The Convention Center, Big Bear Lake, CA
September 18 - October 30, 2010
Saturdays and Sundays
~Celebrating Oktoberfest for 40 Years~

If not noted yet, beer and drinking is a large part of the Oktoberfest celebrations.  And it is difficult not to imbibe in such a raucous environment.  Plan ahead and take advantage of some special transportation packages Classique Limousines if offering through the end of October.  For sedans and SUV's we will provide transfer services and for the larger vehicles you can take advantage of one hour free with five hours of service.  For more information please give us a call at 714.288.8853.

LAGUNA BEACH - The Sawdust Festival and Pageant of the Masters

On Sunday, I went to Laguna Beach to attend two of my favorite summer events - the Sawdust Festival and Pageant of the Masters. If you have never attended either one I urge you to do so immediately!

The Sawdust Festival features great local talents and this year the pottery is exceptional. I bought several pieces which are inspired by the whimsy, the light and the colors that only Laguna Beach could afford. Admittedly, I have been attending this event for over twenty years and each year I discover new artists whose works are evocative and well worth the time to explore and appreciate.

After that we walked several blocks south on PCH to the Aegean Cafe. Under new ownership (which made me a little nervous) we entered the same beautiful surroundings with a more extensive menu. A must is the Loukaniko, arriving at your table sizzling (not on menu, but if you ask they have it!). The entrees are just as enticing with gyros and soulavki exceptional. For me, I was happy with several appetizers, starting with the kalamarakia (squid), then dolmandes (stuffed grape leaves) and finishing with their very delicate spankapopita (fresh spinach and feta baked in phyllo dough).

After such a feast we happily enjoyed the walk back to enjoy the Pageant of the Masters. A premiere event each summer, I have to say this year's presentation was truly great. For the past twenty years I have not missed it and although some years stand out as better than others, this year was a watershed. The costumes, the staging, the choices of works to exemplify made it a truly enchanting evening.

Yes, it was a Southern California day - filled with art, creativity, great food and a starlit sky. But the one drawback was the horrible traffic and lack of adequate parking. Yes, I should have arranged transportation (not too difficult, I am part of Classique Limousines). But I did not and we spent at least 30 minutes trying to find somewhere to park. It probably would have been longer but I have been hanging out in Laguna Beach since I was 16 years old.

So if you have plans to attend The Sawdust Festival or Pageant of the Masters please give me a call. It's summer - our slow season- and I will work with you – offering reasonable rates, great chauffeurs and immaculate vehicles. And if you are in Laguna Beach I definitely recommend the Aegean Cafe. Offering great views, incredible food and a relaxed atmosphere with live music, I could not think of a better way to enjoy Laguna Beach. For more details please call me at Classique Limousines -714.288.8853. OOMPAH!

Transportation for LA Lakers/Boston Celtics 2010 NBA Finals

The rivalry between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers involves the two most storied basketball franchises in the National Basketball Association history. The rivalry had been less intense after the retirement of Magic Johnson and Larry Byrd in the early 1990's but in 2008 it was renewed when they met in the finals for the first time since 1987. The Celtics currently lead in total championships with 17 to the Lakers' 15; together, the two teams 32 championships account for more than half of the 63 championships in NBA history.

The players' names have changed but the intensity is just as great. This year the Lakers have added the aggressive play of Ron Artest to an great roster led by Kobe Bryant and rounded out by players like Gasol, Odom, and Fisher. Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen lead the Celtics who are benefiting from the much improved Rajon Rondo. With the series tied at one each, the competition has returned to the fabled Boston Garden for the next three games. If all goes as the Lakers' fans hope, they will return to The Staples Center for Game 5 on Tuesday June 15th.

As every major sporting event seems to be, parking will be difficult, traffic heavy and security tight. Classique Limousines can offer the solution you need to make the event one that you enjoy from the moment you leave your residence to your return. Options include sedan and SUV services, and for larger groups, limousines and SUV limousines. For more information please give us a call at 714.288.8853 for rates and availability.

2010 ALL-STAR GAME TRANSPORATION

"THEY INVENTED THE ALL STAR GAME FOR WILLIE MAYS."
~Hall of Famer + Nineteen Time All Star Ted Williams*

Baseball has always been about more than just the game. It is a common social ground between strangers, a world of possibilities and chance, where it’s never over ‘til it’s over. The feats of Babe Ruth, the ruthlessness of Ty Cobb, the grace of Willie Mays, the determination of Curt Shilling, the guts of Jackie Robinson. Each has become part of the fabric of America just as so many others have. Every franchise has had its superstars; but only one game brings them all together – The All-Star Game.

The 2010 All-Star Game will be at Angel Stadium this year. On July 12, 2010, fans can attend the Home Run Derby. There will be other events during the week, with the game scheduled for Sunday, July 13, 2010. I’m excited to have the game in Anaheim again this year. I went with my Dad in 1967 – and even now, it is a day I remember vividly.

Make the All-Star Game part of your treasurered memories. I checked earlier and StubHub still has tickets available. But do it now, for the closer we get to the game, the more costly the tickets will be. But beware – traffic will be heavy and security tight. Plan ahead and perhaps consider a chauffeured vehicle.

Classique Limousines, located a mile from the stadium is offering special Internet pricing. We have a full fleet available, including sedans, SUV’s, limousines and limousine buses. Whether you are partying with friends, entertaining clients or spending a great day with the family, Classique Limousines can provide the perfect vehicles to meet your needs. Enjoy the game and enjoy the day without worrying about parking, traffic or that last beer you drank!

*A nod to all my great friends who are Giant fans!

ANGELS BASEBALL TRANSPORTATION SERVICES

I cannot remember a day spent watching baseball that was not a joy. Perhaps it started early with fond memories of warm evenings on my Grandmother’s sleeping porch, cuddling with Daddy as he listened to his beloved Cardinals’ play. That love grew when we moved to California to discover our neighbor had been with the Dodgers since Brooklyn. They had four kids. We would pile into a huge Buick station wagon and spend the afternoon at Chavez Ravine; learning the beauties of the game: the perfect pitch, the perfect catch, how to “take two,” and the most intriguing, the strategy – the mind game- exceptional players played. It was not about steroids – it was able talent and intelligence.

Don’t you love the smell of the grass? And the cracking of the bats when the perfect pitch meets ball? Or the hard slap of ball hitting glove and the perfect throw that connects them to make the out? And then there are the side shows – the hawkers with their peanuts and programs, munching on a perfect hot dog, with pencil in hand recording the plays and discussing the calls.

Warm summer evenings watching a game that harkens to the old-fashion concept of “spending time;” knowing that perhaps we may not see the grand slam, the double out, the homerun hit into the far bleachers. But it doesn’t matter because as much as you watch a baseball game you also spend time with others. You talk, you listen, you laugh, you share . . . four simple things.

But I digress, baseball season is here! And with it comes all the simple pleasures of summers – past, present and future. Smell the grass . . . time to go to a game! Classique Limousines, conveniently located a few miles from Angel Stadium, is offering special transportation packages to the games. If you have plans this season give us a call at 714.288.8853 – it’s a great family outing, evening with friends or corporate event. Our extensive fleet can accommodate any size group from two to fifty. And our reservationists will work with you, offering various options at competitive prices.

Limousine Services for Easter Brunch

When I was growing up, Easter meant a day with friends and family - first at church, then the Easter egg hunt followed by lots of food and candy. Easter dinner was a feast. There was always a huge ham, studded with cloves encircled by pineapple rings, green bean casserole (why did it always show up?) and my Mother's homemade rolls. Dinner ended with our family's traditional lemon ice-box pie (think key lime pie made with lemons).

But over the years traditions changed and we now find ourselves enjoying brunch, usually seaside. There are some fabulous restaurants in Orange County offering either special menus or buffets with complimentary champagne. If you are unsure where to go or would like to try somewhere new this year, following are some suggestions:

The Cannery/Newport Beach: This harbor side landmark features an extensive seafood menu in an artistic setting

Claes Restaurant/Laguna Beach: This long time Hotel Laguna restaurant features one of Orange County's best ocean views, an extensive wine list with a menu of Pacific Rim Fusion Cuisine

The House of Blues/Anaheim: Their "gospel brunch" offers a pseudo-Southern buffet backed by the high-energy gospel, blues and Southern rock music

Orange Hill Restaurant/Orange: With sweeping views and a buffet that offers a dizzying array of choices, this is one of the top brunch choices in the county

Zov's Bistro/Tustin: Intimate dining offering Mediterranean classics with probably the best service anywhere

Las Brisas/Laguna Beach: If you love a little spice, the buffet offers a varied selection of regional Mexican cuisines with an extensive drink menu

Relax and truly enjoy spending time with family and friends (and perhaps a few glasses of champagne). Classique Limousines is offering special transportation packages. Regardless of the size of your group, we have a vehicle that will easily accommodate everyone. From town cars for just the two of you to limo buses for the whole family we can provide that "special touch" to make the day truly memorable. And if you do decide to take full advantage of the complimentary champagne or opt for one of over 50 Margaritas at Las Brisas please plan ahead and ensure safe transportation for you and your guests.

For more information please call us at 714.288.8853 or visit our website at www.classiquelimo.com.

Prom Season - Southern California Limousine Services

Prom - the culmination of the high school year. Dresses picked with care (and perhaps a few arguments with your mother), a date that has abandoned his baggy jeans and t-shirts for a tux and a limousine waiting at the curb.

Before you book your limousine you need to know a few things. Go with an established company and not some guy with a limo. There are a couple of reasons: Many of the one-car companies are not commercially insured since the owner is the driver. Good for him (premiums are lower) but bad for you if anything happens. Of greater concern is that he is not trying to build his company by establishing long-term relationships. So if someone calls a few days before the date of your reservation (and it is a high-demand weekend) he will dump you and book for a higher rate.

Classique Limousines never drives a client once. That is not our goal. We strive to provide the best service possible driven by professional chauffeurs (who arrive 15 minutes before your pick up time) in immaculately detailed vehicles. And we want you to tell everyone about our service for we value referrals. Also if you want to see our fleet, we welcome you! Our office is located at 1227 W Trenton Avenue, Orange, California.

We want you as our client - today and tomorrow. We have lowered rates and minimum hours this prom season to allow you, in this current economy, to realize the prom you have always imagined. Give us a call at 714.288.8853.

St. Patrick's Day Transportation

As they say, "We are all Irish on St. Patrick's Day." When I lived in Chicago the river was dyed a vibrant green and Guinness was consumed in large quantities. Marching Irishmen first paraded in Colonial America in the city of Boston in 1737. Many don the color green and those in other colors are traditionally pinched, usually with affection and humor.

In Orange County, we cannot claim a river dyed green or a parade but we can still tip a beer (or more) to the saint. Irish pubs will be offering a true taste of Ireland with corned beef and cabbage washed down with green beers. From Hennessy's Tavern in Laguna Beach to Auld Irisher in Orange there are plenty of great places to enjoy some Irish cheer.

If you do decide to drink please make sure you have arranged for safe transportation home. Just as you will be out celebrating, so will the local police be out looking for drivers who have drank too much. Classique Limousines will be offering special transfer rates on sedans, SUV's and limousines. Plan ahead to take advantage of the special rates. For more information, please give me a call at our office: 714.288.8853.

May the luck of the Irish be with you!

VALENTINE'S DAY AND THE NBA ALL-STAR GAME

Many basketball fans face an unexpected problem this Sunday. How to enjoy a day of All-Star Basketball while still honoring a holiday they find tedious but the women in their lives consider sacred? Yes, this holy of holy days when one is to profess their true love, demonstrated by their gifts and undivided attention falls on the same day. Certainly a box of candy, some long-stem roses and perhaps a diamond heart will be welcomed. But no matter how lavish the gift, what is expected is that time alone - that time together.

We at Classique Limousines have a few suggestions that will fulfill your special Valentine's wishes. Surprise her with a limousine that whisks you to a romantic dinner on Saturday evening with complimentary champagne to toast your love. Or if you find you must celebrate on Sunday, we suggest a brunch.

However you decide to recognize this romantic holiday, make it special in a chauffeured town car, Mercedes, SUV or limousine. Classique Limousines will work with you to plan your celebration. And if you have any special requests please let us know. Perfectly appointed vehicles, driven by professional chauffeurs will allow you to give her what she really wants - your undivided attention.
